CASUS
Fabian Staub
Fabian Staub is Co-Founder and CEO of CASUS, based in Zurich. He is responsible for the company’s strategic direction and positions CASUS in the Swiss market with a clear focus on productive Legal AI for law firms and in-house legal teams – secure, traceable, and economically scalable.
His foundation is in law: Fabian is an alumnus of the University of St. Gallen, where he completed the MIL (2016) and the MLaw (2018). This background also shapes his perspective as an author. He writes with a risk-aware, practice-oriented approach and a strong focus on compliance, data residency, and reliable decision-making in day-to-day legal work.
Before CASUS, Fabian gained experience at the intersection of law and technology. He worked as a Research and Project Assistant in the legal tech environment at HSG and served as an Academic Attaché at the Swiss Embassy in Canada. This combination of legal craftsmanship, an institutional perspective, and product proximity informs his approach today – viewing Legal AI not as a demo tool, but as an operational system embedded in the document workflow.
A key milestone was the strategic exit of the CASUS Create product line to LAWLIFT (2025). This sharpened CASUS’ focus on the AI associate platform and on scaling AI-driven review and quality processes.
Fabian was also featured in Forbes 30 Under 30, and Swiss media have reported on his path from diplomatic interests to legal tech entrepreneurship.
