Céleste Urech
Céleste Urech is Co-Founder and CTO of CASUS in Zurich. He leads the product and technology strategy and works closely with the development team on workflows that lawyers actually use in day-to-day practice – from architectural decisions and rapid iteration cycles to building document-first legal AI features. His focus is on legal AI that is reliable, secure, and scalable, and that can be deployed and operated cleanly in both law firms and in-house legal teams.
Céleste combines product expertise with a legal background. He studied law at the University of Zurich and additionally completed a Certificate of Legal Studies (including at King’s College London). He later deepened his product and data skills through further education (including at the London School of Economics) as well as training in data analytics and product management. Before CASUS, he spent several years as a Product Manager at Coople and subsequently worked as Interim Head of Product at We.Publish.
As an author, Céleste writes about the practical adoption of legal AI in Switzerland, with a particular emphasis on security and governance topics (e.g., professional secrecy, data residency, encryption) and on product decisions that hold up over the long term. In interviews and articles about CASUS’ strategic direction, he shares learnings from building legal tech and evolving toward AI-powered review workflows.
